About Me
Tracy Fernandez Rysavy is a Teaching Professor (full) in English literature; creative writing; and women’s, gender, & sexuality studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB), as well as a Ph.D. candidate in English literature and criticism at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, in a summers-only program geared toward teachers and college professors. Her primary research focuses on women’s multiethnic Gothic literature of the Americas, 20th and 21st centuries. She also has a budding interest in intersectional feminist digital humanities, thanks to a past fellowship and her current work as Social Media Coordinator for the Recovery Hub for American Women Writers (a partner organization of the Society for the Study of American Women Writers). She recently wrapped up a summer teaching fellowship with the Digital Ethnic Futures Consortium.
Recent publications include guest co-editing an upcoming issue of Feminist Pedagogy Journal on intersectional feminist digital recovery pedagogy (February 2026) and conducting an interview with Bad Cree author Jessica Johns for American Gothic Studies Journal (November 2025).
In 2018, she resurrected UW-Green Bay's Northern Lights Literary & Arts Journal after its three-year hiatus, together with a small group of Creative Writing Club students who were not averse to holding bake sales to pay the printer. Thanks to support from the Applied Writing & English chairs and the UWGB Student Government, Northern Lights is now the literary and arts journal for students, faculty/staff, and alumni from all four UWGB campuses. Each spring, students from all four campuses take Professor Rysavy's ENG 224: Practicum in Literary Publishing course, where they serve as the editorial and publicity staff for the journal.
